Minority-and Woman-Owned Business

The mission of the Minority Business Office (MBO) is to promote the development and growth of new and existing minority and woman-owned businesses across Colorado, with particular emphasis on rural areas that do not have ready access to information and technical help.

The MBO's director and staff maintain a network for the distribution of information regarding a variety of sources of business assistance for minority and woman-owned businesspersons. The MBO is also responsible for serving as a respected advisor to the Governor and General Assembly on issues that matter to this constituency.

Colorado is committed to promoting the growth of a vibrant minority and woman-owned business community through education and assistance.  Activities and objectives of the MBO include:

  • Acting as a clearinghouse to disseminate information to the minority and woman-owned business community

  • Establishing networks between the majority and minority business sectors

  • Increasing minority and women's participation in public and private sector contracting

  • Establishing a link between the minority business community and the Governor's office.
